Our history
The company "Nikoglou Bakery Yeasts S.A." was founded by brothers Nikolaos Pentzos, grandfather of the current Managing Directors, Nikos and Tilemachos Pentzos, Michail Nikoglou and their friend Xanthos. The company initially focused on yeast production for bakery needs, establishing ZANAE as a leader in Thessaloniki and the greater region of Northern Greece.
The company "Nikoglou Bakery Yeasts S.A." was founded by brothers Nikolaos Pentzos, grandfather of the current Managing Directors, Nikos and Tilemachos Pentzos, Michail Nikoglou and their friend Xanthos. The company initially focused on yeast production for bakery needs, establishing ZANAE as a leader in Thessaloniki and the greater region of Northern Greece.
The company's articles of association were revised to adapt to post-war conditions. At the same time, a dividend was distributed to shareholders, affirming the company’s financial stability.
ZANAE made its first exports of stuffed vine leaves "dolmadakia" to Germany, Australia and the United States.
A second factory was established in Imathia for tomato paste production to meet growing demand.
The daughters of Nikolaos and Michail Nikoglou joined the company, with Zoe Pentzou assuming leadership, driving the company’s strategic growth.
Launch of ZANAE’s iconic tomato concassé.
ZANAE was awarded for its export success and broad international appeal.
Relocation of the yeast factory to a new, modern facility on a privately owned 51,134 m² site in Sindos.
Obtained ISO certifications, reinforcing the company’s commitment to high-quality standards.
Relocation of the ready-meal production factory to new, state-of-the-art facilities in Sindos.
Implementation of a new investment plan worth €2,100,000. ZANAE was recognized for its significant influence in Northern and Southern Greece, with market shares of 92% and 52%, respectively.
Relocation of the company’s offices to new, modern facilities in Sindos, with upgraded infrastructure.
